It\u00b4s called the Lon Men\u2019s Noodle House. When you ever have the opportunity to go there- just trust me and go! It\u2019s always packed because in the last couple of years people have noticed that everything is delicious. We started ordering there probably 15 years ago and the quality and deliciousness has been consistent ever since.<\/p>\n<p>Due to Covid19 it\u2019s unfortunately closed for now so I just couldn\u2019t get my beloved Wontons which I could easily eat three times a week. So I decided to try making them myself- and what shall I say&#8230;it\u2019s probably the best thing I ever cooked. When you like spicey Wontons, try the recipe &#8211; you won\u2019t regret it!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 200g ground pork<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 200g shrimp <strong>peeled, deveined, and chopped<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 4 tbsp green onions finely <strong>sliced<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 2 tsp ginger <strong>minced<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 4 tsp soy sauce<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 1 tbs caster sugar<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 1 tsp toasted sesame oil<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00bc tbs rice vinegar<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; \u00bc tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; a pinch of freshly grated pepper<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Wonton wrappers &#8211; I used one pack of fresh frozen ones, which I defrosted in the fridge the night before. There were around 40 in one pack.<\/p>\n<p>Just mix all ingredients in a bowl. I find that using my hands works best &#8211; yes, wash them before doing that J I use disposable gloves for that &#8211; and yes, I wash my hands anyways.<\/p>\n<p>Take one wrapper at the time, wet the edges (pretty generously) and put around one teaspoon in the middle oft the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into an triangle and squeeze the edges oft he wrapper. They have to be tightly sealed &#8211; otherwise the filling will not stay in place when you cook the Wontons. You can leave them like a triangle or fold the corners again. Place them side by side on a flat surface. If your wrappers are sticky sprinkle the surface lightly with some flour.<\/p>\n<p>While you bring salted water to boil in a large pot you can mix all ingredients for the Chili Oil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spicy Chili Oil<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tbsp chili flakes<\/li>\n<li>4 tbsp soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp toasted sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp rice vinegar<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp green onions finely sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp honey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Place Wontons in boiling water, stir gently and let them cook for around six minutes. Drizzle with oil immediately after draining them.
